About Rosatoro

About the name, San Agustin de la Rosatoro is a well known avenue in Lima, Peru that has a mixture of spicy ceviches, seafood and live folkloric music. When thinking about the name for the new restaurant we wanted something authentic which depicts the atmosphere of the restaurant: warm and up beat.

While looking for a location for Rosatoro, we wanted to choose a neighborhood that has the feeling and vibe of an upcoming modern neighborhood. We checked several locations in Park Slope, Long Island City and Astoria. Once we found the open rolling walls of the restaurant we knew it gave the unique and up-beat feeling we were looking for.

The Rosatoro team is passionated about hospitality, we do not only want to provide exquisite food and great cocktails, we want our guests to feel they had a mini vacation to Peru when they enter the restaurant.

"The food is authentic and delicious. I had Ají de Gallina (my favorite dish from our honeymoon) and my husband had a half chicken. My dish was exactly as I remember it from the last place I had it in Peru. The pollo a la brasa was on point."

"This Peruvian restaurant is just as good or better than most restaurants in Manhattan.  The food is delicious and beautiful. The flavors are intense and every bite is luscious and flavorful.  I highly recommend this restaurant is worth the trip. "

"This is the second time we've been here, and we love it. The staff are so friendly, and the owner said, "Welcome back" when we came in. He even remembered I'm vegan. We highly recommend the vegetable soltado (in my opinion, it's the best vegetarian meal on Ditmars)"
